Madulce Station Retrospective
Sometimes it is good to pause for historical perspective and consider what existed in the past and what has been lost. From the late 1970s through 1988 I traveled through Madulce Station many times. It was a unique location in the Los Padres as I think these pictures will amply demonstrate. The photographs in this set were taken in 1983.

See the same view 28 years later. The location is near the 2nd mile of the SB Canyon route, before Chokecherry comes in. I know this because the photographer of the later photograph so informed me. This is not the first time such synchronicity of photographic vision separated by a generation has been discovered between myself and the proprietor of the outstanding craigrcarey blog.
