Madulce Station Retrospective
Sometimes it is good to pause for historical perspective and consider what existed in the past and what has been lost. From the late 1970s through 1988 I traveled through Madulce Station many times. It was a unique location in the Los Padres as I think these pictures will amply demonstrate. The photographs in this set were taken in 1983.

One half mile or so south of Madulce Cabin brought one to the Puerto Suelo - Don Victor trail junction. Certainly spending a comfortable night in the Cabin would help one attain the appropriate state of mind to tackle one or another of these routes. An alternative strategy was to turn around and spend another night in Madulce Cabin. Spring, 1983.
